Super Hero Squad Online
Super Hero Squad Online changes all. Players each gain control of their very own helecarrier, and within the confines of the carrier, the heroes that players collect can and will run amok. The helecarrier contains about a dozen rooms – from dorms, which are fully customizable, to a training room, rec room, detention cells, a cafeteria and the bridge. Each room can be outfitted with furniture and items. It's not just decorative, either. In one room we were shown a trampoline, which Doctor Strange was happily leaping on. Another had treadmills, with Daredevil on top, pounding the rubber. There were also spheres and cubes of various sizes, pins which resembled weeble-wobbles, beds and chairs, and room-specific furniture, like the control panels in the bridge. In one room, there was even an enormous screen with the Marvel SHSO logo splashed across it, and it was hinted that the screen would be functional. Will it stream custom-made content? Episodes of the Super Hero Squad show? Perhaps just commercials? We'll have to wait and see.
Players have full control over where it all goes, or they can literally throw it around. The helecarrier features physics, so throwing a cube against a wall will have it tumble realistically. You can even set up some Rube Goldbergian chain reactions. The heroes that players place within the room will also interact with the furniture. The Hulk will pick up and throw crates, or if there's a hamburger lying around, he'll run over and eat it. Heroes all have preprogrammed preferences for the activities they'll do based on their personality. Heroes known for their intellect will likely run to the bridge and screw with the controls, while fitness freaks will head to the training room or rec room and work out.
